Best website to search for large print books/titles that are not in KLAS

Hello everyone,

I have been entering large print titles/books into KLAS over the past few months. Most of them are fairly easy since they already exist in KLAS under DB or BR KLAS id, however I have come across with many titles that don't exist in KLAS at all. Does anybody know what is the best web site to search for large print titles to get all the information about the book such as By The Sea by Abdulrazak Gurnah? Thank you!

Hi George,

I second World Cat.

Is this your LP book...?
search.worldcat.org/title/1393519804?oclcNum=1393519804

I used the ISBN for the only LP book listed at Ingram .

TMI: I usually start our large print orders in Ingram. I create a massive export of LP titles (with pub date parameters) into a spreadsheet and gradually shave off books. I keep the ISBN column - amongst other columns - as I work through my orders. Once the orders are sent, I use this spreadsheet to create a batch of KLAS records in one fell swoop using Tools >> Load External Title Files in the Cataloging module.

I have been using ISBN originally obtained from Ingram to look up books in World Cat. It's really rare that I don't get a match for my large print ISBN. And that record always has page numbers, which is nice when cataloging from home and I cannot physically check the book.

Quick note for anyone intrigued by that Load External Titles File tool: this is a great function for loading catalog data for purchased titles, but it requires some setup. If you want to be able to load a spreadsheet of catalog records from Ingram, Worldcat, or some other source, please send a copy of one of your spreadsheets to Customer Support and let us know that you need Load External Titles File set up.
