The Keystone Development Team’s recent meeting highlighted significant progress on the KLAS 7.8.34 release and a sneak peek into the future of the platform. Key achievements include the successful integration of the PNDB Workday API, fixes to the IRC-focused Invoices by Lines and Lines by Patron Role reports, and resolving the issue with barcode generation when recieving a multi-volume item. Additionally, the team demonstrated the web-based prototype of KLAS 8, circulation module only. Meanwhile, development is actively moving forward on version 7.8.35, which will introduce email validation, inactive session management, consumable counter integrity, and more.
Looking ahead, items in development include USPS API and NLS Patron Enrollment integration, and prepping for OpenEdge security upgrades. On the community side, the user group discussed open KDAC committee at-large seats. They also finalized plans to embed a new submission feedback form on the user site and noted two new report requests pending on the forums regarding general circulation and large print reader preferences.
