Do you have set of overarching categories you need for statistics? For example: Do you want to track the number of public school versus private schools requests? Or perhaps you need to know how many special requests you’ve received or how many late requests were made in a given school year? Do you need to keep track of request made by schools which are not making the grade? Your needs may be met with the new Categories field on the Materials Request header. This field can have any type of overarching category that you want and can be used to track number of requests.
With the Materials Request Categories code file in place, you can select one or more categories for each Material request by either modifying the existing header, or adding it in when you enter the MR. Add Categories by clicking the down arrow next to categories field to open the category selector. Then highlight the desired categories on the left and press add to move them to the right side of the screen. Finally save changes puts them on the MR Header.
Once you have categories applied to your Materials Requests, you can run the Totals by Category Report from the Reports menu in the Materials Requests module.
