Patron - Subscriptions - query function

One feature that would be helpful to have would be a way to perform a query by patron subscription, within the patron module. Currently, there is no connection or way to pull in the fields from the subscription tab into a query or report. This option would allow a clean way to get statistics, run reports and other such processes for serials and patrons, as needed, as in the case of doing mail merges of patron info and their subscriptions in a more simplified manner than creating a mail card batch and running it to labels. The serials module seems to be too much of a silo away from the other modules. We'd like it more integrated and able to perform the same types of report and such as the other modules.

Until query is available for you, there is a roundabout way to do what you want to do. In the Serials module, go to the Subscribers tab of the serial you are wanting to work with. Export that list to Excel. Then sort the list by status (and potentially CIR status). Copy the column of the patron IDs for your active patrons to Notepad and save it.
Then go to Patron - Query - Import Query Set. Use the browse button to find your saved file of IDs. Once the results are in place, you can do what you would normally do with a query set.

So this function is coming? There will be a way to query Serials?

That is the current way I do it. I can make that work, but I'd like something a little bit more straightforward that doesn't require as much of a workaround. The most frustrating module in KLAS is Serials because of how silloed it is. Getting some pieces of information in ways needed can be challenging because of this.

I don't know how soon a query of patron subscriptions would be available. It sounds more like you'd want to be able to do this from the Patron module - being able to include additional serial subscription parameters to your current query set, rather than creating a query function in the Serials module. Would you need information other than the subscription ID / title, i.e., information from the various issues?

Didn't mean to muddy the water. Yes, to have Serials available to the Patron module for a query is ideal. I think Subscription ID/ title and such is what would be useful.
